C, D. Two miniatures of putti (?) celebrating the names of Christ and the Virgin. In each the monogram (IHS and MAR respectively) within an aureole is flanked by musicians seated on clouds, with a group of dancing figures below. In the latter miniature the figures are apparently female. Stylistically related to Add. MS. 54246 (see The Eric George Millar Bequest, Brit. Mus. Quart., xxxiii, 1-2, 1968, pl. xvi). Approx. 128 x 93 mm. and 125 x 90 mm., laid down on cartridge paper. Early 17th cent.
