From Erode: I think we arrived in Mercara on April 25th. In Mercara itself I did not record music, but we saw a marriage ceremony. I did work in two places, Napoklu in N. Coorg and Ponampet in S. Coorg. Ponampet, three of the four singers of nr. 127 taken en profil. The drums have the usual hour-glass shape, varying in pitch according to the tension of the ropes by the hands of the players.
