1. Papyrus 655

Loan of Money (P.Grenf. II 18, P.Lond. III 655 descr., TM 61)
Scope & Content:
Contract drawn up in the notarial office of Pathyris, recording a three-month loan of 5600 drachmas with no interest from Thoteus to Totoes and his wife Takmeis. Penalty applies should the borrowers fail to repay the loan within the agreed time.

Extent:

Papyrus sheet, almost complete, damaged by holes especially in the left portion; otherwise well preserved. Writing runs along the fibres on one side, the back being blank. There are 28 lines, the last of which is indented and separated by some blank space. All margins are extant, with the right being irregular and minimal. The blank space at the bottom measures 85 mm. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

2. Papyrus 880

Deed drawn up in the office of the notary Heliodorus whereby Totoes, son of Pelaeus, divides the lands belonging to him and located in the plain of Pathyris between his children.

Extent:

Medium-brown papyrus roll with darker patches, damaged especially at the bottom; written on one side along the fibres, the back being blank. On the front, there are two columns of 15 and 16 lines respectively. The upper margin is extant, the other margins partly survive. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.

3. Papyrus 1203

Loan of Money and Wheat (P.Lond. III 1203, TM 90)
Scope & Content:
Contract drawn up in the office of the notary Heliodorus in Pathyris, recording the loan of money and wheat received by Totoes, son of Pelaeus, from his son Panebchounis. The loan is to be repaid in Mesore. With subscription of Areius, agent of Heliodorus.

Papyrus sheet, complete but lacking part of the upper right edge and with surface damage in places; written on one side across the fibres, with the back blank. There are 13 complete lines, which occupy the upper half of the sheet; the last line, written after paragraphus and some blank space, is indented. Margins survive, although the right margin is lost opposite the text. The blank space at the bottom measures 190 mm. The papyrus is mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.
