The oldest inscription here is that of the grave of Mrs Emma Townsend (1775), wife of the Chief of the English factor. Another commemorates Major Muirhead (1809). Lieut. Chas. Stewart was killed during the siege of 1783 and Lieut. Spottiswood Lawson died here in 1808(?). Both may be buried here....
