Negative on mica. Full-length seated study of Dr. Max Müller (1823-1900), Sanskritist and philologist; Muller is wearing a collegiate robe and hat, seated reading a book hand resting on left hand; framed with Photo 1194/3(77); part of "Points of View" Exhibition at the British Library in 2010.
Made positive by applying dark varnish on verso; no longer transparent; some Sabattier effect on the cloth; corners trimmed; 2.4cm tear on upper edge (piece missing); tears along right edge; excess emulsion on lower edge; Christie's Lot 330.
