Scope & Content:: Lands records from Funafuti and Nanumea Islands and most of the Lands Commission records held by the Tuvalu National Archives. Contains some genealogical material. When choosing material to copy, the project identified records that documented language, culture, tradition, customs and heritage. The original records are files, notebooks, registers and loose papers. They cover the dates c 1884-1973. The records are written either in Tuvalu or a combination of Tuvalu and English.

Physical Characteristics:: Some of the files contain duplicate images. Some of the files contain faint or difficult to read images. This appears to be caused by the faded character of the originals and possible mould or water damage.
Custodial History:: Records in this Collection were created as part of the Project: EAP005 Tuvalu National Archives preservation pilot project. They are copies of originals held by the Tuvalu National Archives.
Source of Acquisition:: Received from Mr Richard Overy, June 2006 (Accession Record EAP005)
Arrangement:: The Project arranged the images into electronic folders according to the microfilm reel number given by the Pacific Manuscripts Bureau, and then by the reference number used by the Tuvalu National Archives. This catalogue follows the arrangement of material into series and files as listed in the Finding Aids deposited as part of the Project and the original Finding Aids of the Tuvalu National Archives. It adds an EAP Reference Number.
Administrative Context:: EAP005 was funded by the Endangered Archives Programme. It created digital copies of records held by the Tuvalu National Archvies.
Information About Copies:: Digital copies were deposited with the Tuvalu National Library and Archives. Microfilm copies were made by the Pacific Manuscripts Bureau and deposited with their members: National Library of Australia, Australia; The Mitchell Library, Australia; The Australian National University Library, Australia; National Library of New Zealand, New Zealand; The University of Auckland Library, New Zealand; Library of the University of Hawaii, United States of America; Library of the University of California, United States of America; Yale University Library, United States of America; Library of the University of Michigan, United States of America.
