The manuscript in this collection was digitised as part of the EAP205 Endangered Manuscript Collections of Sufi Brotherhoods in Western Sumatra Project. The original volume is held by the Surau al-Amin in Pasaman Barat, Western Sumatra.
The manuscript, Akal dan Kelebihannya, details Naqshabandiyah mystical conceptions and rituals. It dates from the early 20th century. At the time of cataloguing, the material within the Surau was maintained by Sheikh H. Syaiqhul Ikhwan.
This manuscript is one of three held at the Surau al-Amin. Information about the other manuscripts can be found in the EAP205 Survey report. Over the past 50 years many Surau manuscripts have been misplaced, stolen, and damaged or destroyed, which accounts for the small size of the collection.
