CORRESPONDENCE and papers of the family of Barrington, of Barrington Hall, co. Essex, chiefly on family matters and private business, but including much of political interest and, more especially, a large amount of correspondence relating to the civil war in 1643-4, Sir Thomas Barrington, 2nd Bart., M.P., being a leading member of the Parliamentary Committee for Essex; circ. 1490-1713. With a few papers added, down to 1820. For copious extracts see the Appendix to the Seventh Report of the Historical MSS.
