Title:

CORNFORD PAPERS. The literary papers of Frances Crofts Cornford née Darwin; 1895-1960, n.d. Chiefly autograph. Partly French, German and Spanish. The papers are listed, with other BL holdings relating to Frances Cornford, in Location Register of Twentieth-Century English Literary Manuscripts and Letters (1988), i, pp. 210-211. For full descriptions of some of the items see Stratford, Mod. Lit. MSS., no. 49. Subsequent to the receipt of further Cornford papers in 1974, the whole collection was rearranged. The present numeration therefore does not always correspond to that in Stratford. Some material listed by Stratford is now among Add. 58373-58430, while some material acquired in 1974 is incorporated in the present collection. The material was assembled by the children of Frances Cornford in 1968. Purchased from the Arts Council on 12 April 1969, except for certain items marked with an asterisk on the original manuscripts, which were presented by Sir Geoffrey Keynes, 13 Dec. 1969.
