SCOTT PAPERS Papers of Sir Charles Stewart Scott, G.C.B., G.C.M.G., diplomatist (b. 1838, d. 1924). After serving in junior posts in Europe and America, he was appointed Secretary to the Embassy and Chargé d'Affaires at Berlin in 1883. He was later Envoy Extraordinary to the Swiss Confederation 1888, Plenipotentiary to the Samoan Conference 1889 and at the Labour Conference at Berlin 1890; he served finally as Envoy Extraordinary at Copenhagen 1892-8 and Ambassador at St Petersburg, 1898-1904; aft. 1854-circa 1924, n.d. Partly printed and typewritten. Presented by his daughter, Marie Christian Warre, wife of John Warre, 14 December 1963.
