BROCKMAN PAPERS. Family and estate papers of the Brockman, afterwards Drake-Brockman, family of Beachborough, in Newingtonnext-Hythe, co. Kent, and allied families; 15th-19th centt. The members of the family with whose affairs the papers are primarily concerned are:-

(1) Sir William Brockman (knt. 1633; d. 1654), royalist, m. Anne, sole daughter and heiress of Simon Bunce, of Otterden, co. Kent.

(2) James Brockman (d. 1683), eldest surviving son and heir of (1), m. Lucy, daughter of James Young, of London.

(3) William Brockman (d. 1742), J.P., Deputy-Lieutenant for co. Kent 1689-1690, M.P. for Hythe 169O-1695, son and heir Of (2), m. Anne, daughter and co-heiress of Richard Glydd, of Pendell in Bletchingley, co. Surr.

(4) James Brockman, J.P., son and heir Of (3), d. unmarried 1767.

(5) The Rev. Ralph Drake afterwards Drake-Brockman (d. 1781), B.D., son of John Drake of London, and first cousin once removed Of (4), who inherited Beachborough on the death Of (4); M. Caroline, great-granddaughter of Zouch Brockman of Cheriton, brother of (1), above. His grandmother, Martha Drake, was sister to, and co-heiress with, Anne Glydd, wife Of (3) above.
