BROCKMAN PAPERS. Vols. I-VI. General correspondence of members of the Brockman and allied families, mainly concerning their business affairs; 1563-1843. The greater part of the material relates to William Brockman (d. 1742). Vol. I includes (ff. 7-27) correspondence of Sir William Brockman (d. 1654) and (ff. 29-49 passim) of James Brockman (d. 1683), and vols. V and VI include correspondence of James Brockman (d. 1767), vol. VI consisting almost entirely of his correspondence with his lawyer, Nathaniel Cole, of London. Also included in vol. V is some correspondence of John Drake (ff. 106-145 passim) and of the Rev. Ralph Drake afterwards Drake-Brockman (ff. 204-214). The names of the writers of letters will be found in the 1ndex to this Catalogue. Six volumes.
