BERKELEY PAPERS : autograph commonplace books, correspondence and journals of travel of George Berkeley, D.D., Bishop of Cloyne 1734-1753, correspondence of his family, and literary remains of Francis Cherry, the nonjuror, Martin Benson, Bishop of Gloucester,. Thomas Secker. Archbishop of Canterbury, and Catherine Talbot. Belonged to Eliza (d. 1800), widow of Rev. George Berkeley, LL.D., the Bishop's son, and passed through the family of Grimston to Rev. Hugh James Rose, Principal of King's College, London (d. 1838), his widow, and his brother Henry John Rose, Archdeacon of Bedford (d. 1873). First used extensively by A. C. Fraser in his edition of Berkeley's Works (Oxford, 1871). Thirteen volumes. Presented by Mrs. W. F. Rose.
