The manuscripts were subsequently given new references by the India Office Library in line with the European Manuscripts schema (prefix: Mss Eur), and the collection was known by the scope reference 'Mss Eur C12-14; D70-98; E68-73; G10-25'. This proved to be impractical, and was updated to Mss Eur Buchanan when the catalogue was entered into the British Library Explore Archives and Manuscripts system in 2019.
