Twenty-six drawings of the people, monuments and landscape of Nepal.
By Nepalese artists, 1843-46; with one western drawing of Mount Abu (c.1850).
Water-colour and body-colour; various sizes.
Inscribed as noted. The Nepal drawings are normally on English paper with watermarks 1840-42. In a folder of Nepalese paper inscribed in ink ‘Pictures of Nepal’ and in pencil: ‘Found by Mrs. H.L. Hart among her papers in January 1907 & given by her to Sir H.W. Lawrence. The pictures appear to have been painted for Sir H.M. Lawrence & given by him to his sister Mrs. Hayes. A.W.L. 8 Jan. 1907.’
