Folio, quarter leather and red cloth boards, measuring 427 x 312 mm, containing 18 albumen prints with accompanying letterpress descriptions. A four-volume edition of small format prints of Frith's Egyptian views, bound in eight parts, was issued by the William Mackenzie in 1863 under the overall title of 'Egypt, Palestine and Nubia.' Despite the slightly differing titlepage, this volume forms the second part of volume 2; for part 1, see pressmark Wf1/4624. The full list of plates for both parts is printed in the first volume and the numbering of this part is continued from the first. Pressmarks Wf1/4620, 4621, 4622, 4624 and 4625 are an incomplete set of Frith's 'Egypt, Palestine and Nubia,' a four-volume work issued in eight parts in 1863, under the following titles: vol. I, 'Sinai and Palestine,' vol. II, 'Lower Egypt, Thebes and the Pyramids,' vol. III, 'Upper Egypt and Ethiopia,' vol. IV, 'Egypt, Sinai and Palestine. Supplementary volume.' The present set lacks vol. I part 1, vol. III part 2, vol. IV part 2. A copy of the complete letterpress of vol. III, lacking the photographs, can be found at Af962*3*DSC.
