Quarto, red cloth binding with decoration on upper board in gilt and black, incorporating title and two images from Thomson's photographs, measuring 284 x 223 mm; pp. 100, lacking front free endpaper. This work, which is a re-issue of unsold sheets from Thomson and Smith's 'Street life in London,' contains 21 woodburytype prints from Thomson's photographs, mounted on card one to a page within red rules, followed by Smith's descriptive letterpress descriptions for each image.
