Prefixed to Add MS 5036 is a letter from Gabriel Mathias to the trustees of the British Museum, containing an extract from the will of James Mathias esq, from which it appears that these volumes are all in the handwriting of Henry Needler esq, their previous owner. Add MS 5039, Add MS 5040, Add MS 5041, Add MS 5042, Add MS 5043, Add MS 5045, Add MS 5046, Add MS 5047, Add MS 5050, and Add MS 5051 seem to have been copied from printed books.
