Contents:
(1) Ibn al-Masīḥī (ابن المسيحي), Kitāb al-iqtiḍāb al-majmūʿ ʿalá ṭarīq al-masʾalah wa-l-jawāb ( كتاب الاقتضاب المجموع على طريق المسألة والجواب, ff. 2v-57v);
(2) Muhadhdhab al-Dīn al-Dakhwār (مهذب الدين الدخوار), Sharḥ Kitāb Taqdimat al-maʿrifah li-Abuqrāṭ (شرح كتاب تقدمة المعرفة لأبقراط, ff. 58r-139v).
This volume was previously owned by a Lebanese Maronite Christian, Yūsuf al-Ṣayfī (يوسف الصيفي, d. after 1847). The British Library holds a number of other manuscripts from the al-Ṣayfī collection (see record for Or 12151) and at least 40 others are housed in the Special Collections of the University of Leeds, having been acquired around 1957. Many of these were written in al-Ṣayfī's own hand (e.g. Leeds MSS Arabic 72 and 105) or that of his brother Anṭūn (Leeds MS Arabic 271; see Young, M. J. L., 'Arabic and Turkish Manuscripts in the Leeds Oriental Manuscript Collection', Bulletin [British Society for Middle Eastern Studies], 7 [1980], pp. 123-31).
The binding features a stamped central cross, typical of the Christian community in Lebanon.
