Title: زورهٔ باستانی وخشور زراتشت

The Zawrah-ʼi bāstānī (ff. 3r-12r) ascribed originally to the prophet Ibrāhīm Zartusht and translated into Persian by Āẕar Pazhūh, a pupil of Buzurg Mihr.

Certain passages purporting to be the original text are overlined.

A second treatise (Risālah-ʼi dīgar) follows on ff. 12r-21v.

Copied for Buzurji Sorabji probably from a manuscript of the same title in the Mulla Firuz Library (Rehatsek, Catalogue raisonné, Bombay, 1873, pp. 225-6).

Provenance and Acquisition

RSPA 119-265 were presented to the Royal Society in 1864 and 1865 by Burjorjee Sorabjee Ashburner; bookplate: "Presented to the Royal Society / by Mr. Burjorjee Sorabjee Ashburner / May 1865".

The Royal Society's collection of 280 Persian and Arabic, and 86 Sanskrit manuscripts were transferred to the India Office Library in 1876.
