The Siva as well as the Goddess temple ceilings has the painted murals. The paintings are in extinct condition and peeling off due to changing weather conditions. The murals show the set of scenes from the epic ‘Kumarasambhava’.
On the inner ceilings there are some portrait paintings of men and women who helped financially in the execution of these paintings. It is an unique and move away from the legendary story according to which Lord Muruga was born out of a flame from Lord Siva’s third eye and it’s unique and not seen in any other art work in Tamil Nadu.
