This volume contains an Arabic commentary by ʿAbd al-Qādir ibn ʿUmar Baghdādī (1030-93 AH/1621-82 CE; VIAF ID: 46917189) upon the Tuhfe-yi Şahidi, a Persian-Ottoman Turkish vocabulary in mesnevi form by İbrahim Şahidi Dede of Muğla (died 957 AH/1550 CE).
This manuscript was copied by Osman Rıfat and was completed 17 Cemaziülahir 1177 (17 December 1763 CE).

Two other copies of this text are noticed in GAL, including one in Cairo entitled Taᶜrīb Tuḥfat al-Shāhidī (تعريب تحفة الشاهدي) and is defective (Catalogue of the Khedival Library IV, p. 166); and one in Princeton entitled Sharḥ kalimāt ᶜarabiyah ᶜalá al-Tuḥfat al-Shāhidiyah (شرح كلمات عربية على تحفة الشاهدي), and its date is 1166 AH (1752-53 CE) (see Littmann, E., List of Arabic Manuscripts at the Princeton University Library, p. 80).
