This collection contains 262 files and 2522 images. NILGIRIS DOCUMENTATION CENTRE (NDC) officially inaugurated by British council Director Mr. Chris Gibson in 2006. This is the only surviving unique collection in this region, and not yet explored by any researchers. 1) Mr. A. Dharmalingam, son of K. Andi Gowder of Konnerimukku, Kotagiri, founder of this collection. He worked as a Journalist over sixty years in the Nilgiri region. He contributed his best to the care and welfare of the Nilgiris and its people whom he loved. He founded the Nilgiri Documentation Centre in the 1940s and created a collection of photograph related to the Nilgiris. 2) Dr. Philo Irudhayanath was the one who met various Tribes and Nomads from Tibet in the north to the Nilgiris in the south, with his bicycle and learned about their way of life and wrote articles. He was born in Mysore in 1916 and raised in Chennai. He has worked as a Tamil teacher in a school in Chennai for 25 years during British India. He has written about 29 books and 3000 articles on tribes of India, in English and Tamil. He was the recipient of National Award (India) in 1975 and Tamil Nadu state award for his exclusive work.

Arrangement: These material has not been ordered according to any classification scheme. Most of them kept in the curtain boxes. The custodian manage to pick the images based on his memory. He is not interested to organize it.
