Custodial history: According to the owner of this collection, they were under the care his great grandfather, K. Subramania Iyer, are now his under the custody of his grandson Dr. S. Sivasanmukaraja. Dr. Sivasanmukaraja's grandfather practiced medicine in Kantharodai. According to the owner, he died in 1935. He said that the abundance of manuscripts were collected from Dr. Pethuru Arulappan at Sunnagam and Dr. Sevarathnam at Inuvil. These manuscripts were probably written during the 19th century. Medical methods, cures, drugs, astrology, Sama Peturu Amman (Christian religious text) etc are mentioned in these manuscripts.
