This section (38v-138r) contains the earliest, and one of the most detailed, hagiographies of Mawlānā Jalāl al-Dīn Rūmī (died 672 AH/1273 CE). It was authored by Farīdūn ibn Aḥmad Sipahsālār, who was Rūmī’s disciple for up to forty years and wrote the work in the decades after his passing. Written in Persian, the Risāla covers Rūmī’s life, virtues, teachings, and sayings.

Pas ba-sar-i maqṣūd bāz āyam ānchih maqṣūdast sharḥ dihīm Chunīn gūyad aqall al-‘ibād va aṣgharuhum Farīdun bin Aḥhmad al-ma‘rūf bi-Isfahsālār...

The illuminated heading and marginal illumination on 38v and 38v-39r are of excellent quality.
The text is dated 17 Receb 1032 AH/17 May 1623 CE.
