Chastelard: a verse tragedy by A. C. Swinburne; [1860-1863]. Swinburne was working on Chastelard from the beginning of 1860 until October 1863 (see G. Lafourcade, La Jeunesse de Swinburne, ii, 1928, pp. 261-262). Ashley Library Catalogue, vi, pp. [55], 216. Early drafts, apparently of three discarded passages of Chastelard, are included in A1851, ff. 17, 17b. According to Lafourcade, op. cit., ii, pp. 273-274, Wise formerly possessed an autograph synopsis of Chastelard, but this is no longer found in the Ashley Library.
