HARVEY DIARIES. Vols. I-XV. Lord Harvey's manuscript diaries; 1937-1946. With the exception of the earliest notebooks (Add. 56379-56384) and of his accounts of foreign visits which he chiefly entered in Stationery Office notebooks, Lord Harvey wrote most of his diaries on the headed or embossed notepaper of the Foreign Office, the British Embassy in Paris, and various clubs, hotels and private houses, including, during the fall of France, the stationery of the Hôtel Montré, Bordeaux, and unused receipt forms for evacuees leaving France aboard British ships. The text originally began with entries 9-16 March 1936, but Lord Harvey records removing these as being of little interest (Add. 56379, f. 1).
