ASTON PAPERS. Vols. I.-XII. Collections relating to property in Warwickshire and elsewhere, most of which before the Dissolution of Monasteries belonged to Nuneaton Priory. The dissolved priory and its possessions were granted by the Crown to Sir Marmaduke Constable, whose son Sir Robert sold them to Sir Ambrose Cave (d. 1568). The latter's daughter and heiress, Margaret, married Henry Knollys (d. 1582), Esquire of the Body to Qu. Elizabeth, and one of their two coheiresses, Elizabeth, became the wife of Sir Henry Willoughby, of Risley, bart. (d. 1649). The only child of this marriage, Anne Willoughby, married Sir Thomas Aston, of Aston, CO. Chest., bart.' and the property thus came to the Astons. Twelve volumes.
