50335-50353. ARNOLD-FORSTER PAPERS. Vols. LXI-LXXIX. Diaries mostly as Secretary of State for War, including notes of Cabinet and other meetings and copies of correspondence; 1903-1908. Typewritten, with MS. and printed notes and insertions. At the beginning of the first volume is the following note by Arnold-Forster:- 'The Diary was dictated in nearly every case on the day following the events described. In some cases it was written down on the same day and copied subsequently. When absent from home, the Diary was written on the spot and forwarded by post to be copied. It is therefore an absolutely contemporary record.'
