- The bulk of the correspondence, of late January/February 1990, concerns his deselection by the Clwyd North West Conservative Association as the Conservative Party candidate for the next general election. The Association voted by a 2-1 majority to deselect Meyer on 19 Jan 1990. Meyer received letters both welcoming and criticising the decision, with a majority being critical of the Association’s decision.
