The journal Oral History began as an occasional news sheet, edited by Paul Thompson. With the formation of the Oral History Society, this news sheet developed into the Society's twice-yearly journal but continued to feature news of oral history projects and activities from across Great Britain. The journal was a major part of the Society's aims to encourage debate, discussion of methods and other matters related to oral history (alongside meetings and conferences).
The Editorial Board records in this series have been gathered from three main sources - Paul Thompson (Founder-Editor), Joanna Bornat and Rob Perks. Correspondence and comments from guest or other special editors are present within these creators' files. In some files, there are draft journal articles with editorial annotations.
