First of two scrapbooks compiled by the Calcutta Light Opera Group and Society (CLOGS) and its predecessor, the Calcutta Light Opera Group (CLOG) relating to its activities producing Gilbert & Sullivan plays and other light operas for the Anglo Indian community of Calcutta.
The scrapbook includes a pasted-in copy of the society's rules, programmes for the productions, typescript descriptions of the productions, photographs from the plays and rehearsals with typescript captions and press cuttings on the productions and actors. Also included are photographs of actors and prominent members of the society, accompanied by short typescript biographies.
The productions include The Mikado, The Gondoliers, A Country Girl, The Arcadians, The Pirates of Penzance, The Yeomen of the Guard, The Beggar's Opera, HMS Pinafore and Iolanthe.
