Scope & Content:

Series of miscellaneous papers, manuscript and printed, on a variety of military matters, including extensive material relating to the Reorganisation of the Army, filed in the Military Secretary's Office. Each item, no. 1-786, is numbered but often comes with additional enclosures and supporting documents. Often items are annotated. Each item is indexed in a volume (Mss Eur F699/1/3/7/1), but not every item has survived. Other items were transferred out of the sequence to different series such as Military Secretary: Papers on Special Subjects on board the 'Feroze' (Mss Eur F699/1/3/8). In addition, there are other un-numbered papers which do not appear in the index.

Papers are not in chronological order.
