- In July 1835, 32 Crutched Friars was sold for £820 toWilliam Bucknall and Richard Corfield Bucknall,, and 42 Crutched Friars was sold for £1,750 to Alexander Grant. Both houses had been used by the East India Company as dwellings for their warehouse employees. A mint attached to number 42, erected by the Company in 1786, was included in the sale.
