The 38 files and volumes of the ‘Naval and Marine’ subject files were produced by the English Office at the Political Agency, Bahrain.
The ‘Naval and Marine’ files mainly contain correspondence between the Political Resident at Bushire; the Political Agent, Bahrain; the Adviser to the Government at Bahrain; Royal Indian Marine Dockyard, Bombay; Senior Naval Officer Persian Gulf; Shaikh Hamad bin Isa al Khalifah, Ruler of Bahrain; Shaikh Abdullah bin Qasim al Thani, Ruler of Qatar; various commercial companies. Topics covered in the correspondence include the:
- Maintenance and replacement of the launches owned by the Political Agency, Bahrain and the Bushire Residency;
- Navigational issues such as the position and colour of beacons and light buoys;
- Bahrain yacht club;
- Surveys of Bahrain, Yas Island and Muharraq;
- Arrivals and departures of ships of the British India Steam Navigation Company, British Navy, French Navy, and the Anglo Iranian Oil Company;
- Reployment of naval bases at Henjam and Basidu [Bāsaʻīdū] on the Persian side of the Gulf;

- Supply of marine stores and provisions.
Included are many brochures and technical diagrams related to marine engineering from companies such as B.R. Herman and Mohatta, Karachi, and John I. Thorneycroft, Yousuf bin Ahmed Kanoo, and the Mesopotamia Persia Corporation.
