The 'War: Exports and Imports' sub-sub-series contains files related to the Political Agency in Bahrain's regulation of all imports/exports in to and out of Bahrain and the broader Persian Gulf region during and after the Second World War.
As such, the files in this sub-sub-series primarily consist of correspondence between the Agency and a number of local merchants active in Bahrain, as well as members of the ruling family, regarding their import/export requirements and requests. As well as correspondence, the files also contain a large amount of administrative paperwork including formal requests for shipping space.
The sub-sub-series also contains a file (IOR/R/15/2/1782) that is composed of congratulatory messages that were sent to the British authorities by members of the ruling families in the region after victories in the Second World War.
