This file contains letters and telegrams sent to the Political Agency in Bahrain from individuals, primarily members of the region's ruling families, as well as from a number of Bahraini institutions.
The main correspondents in the file are the Political Agency, the ruler of Sharjah, Shaikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi; and the ruler of Bahrain, Shaikh Salmān bin Ḥamad Āl Khalīfah.
The letters are primarily messages of congratulations related to victories on behalf of Britain and its allies in the Second World War that took place between 1943 and 1945.
The file also contains copies of the responses (including drafts) that were sent back from the Political Agency to these various individuals and institutions.
The majority of the letters are in Arabic (with English translations provided).
