Various statements by Cobbing about his work, as follows:
(1) Introductory text (typescript) to Cobbing, SO (Writers Forum, 1968).
(2) Copy letter from Cobbing (26 March, 1969) to The Music Panel, The Arts Council, applying for funds to purchase recording equipment: 'although my work usually goes under the name Sound Poetry (Text-Sound compositions in Sweden) it is really often nearer to music than poetry'.
(3) Comments (manuscript, without date, on the verso of 3 sheets promoting Bogle-L'Ouverture Publications, London, c 1972) on performing in Sweden amd Germany (with Paula Claire).
(4) Introduction to Songsignals (1972), in manuscript and typescript.
(5) 'An Approach to Notation' (draft manuscript), published in Peter Mayer (ed.), Bob Cobbing & Writers Forum (Ceolfrith Press, 1974).
(6) Statement (manuscript) beginning 'My earliest poems...'.
(7) Draft introduction (manuscript) to Cobbing, Gloup and Woup (Arc Publications, 1974).
(8) 'The State of Poetry - Part Two' (January 1976) - second preliminary statement issued by Poets Conference (Cobbing, Convener) and including Cobbing's statement 'How I got involved'.
(9) Statement (manuscript, without date) beginning: 'Anarchy in art means for me the freedom to break existing rules...' (5 sheets, on the verso of London Flim Makers Co-operative letterheaded paper).
(10) Statement beginning: 'Has poetry significantly advanced since Dada?' (duplicated sheet, April 1980).
(11) Letter (2 June, 1980) from Contemporary Authors (Detroit) seeking information, together with copy of summary of career supplied by Cobbing.
(12) 'What the tape-recorder teaches the poet' (copy typescript, 18 September 1985).
(13) Statement beginning: 'I began to use a computer (Sinclair QL) in May 1986 to make abstract scores...' (as manuscript draft and typescript).
