Official purchases: Alum 500 pecul at 2 tael per pecul; Quicksilver 200 pecul at 45 tael; Silk - raw 150 pecul at 155 tael, woven 10.480 pieces for 59,862.7 tael - 4132 taffatas, 2693 poisees, 1052 grograms, 500 satins, 100 shagreens, 2000 bed damasks; Sugar 1000 pecul at 3 tael; Sugar candy 250 pecul at 5.8 tael; Tea - Bing 38 pecul at 45 tael, Bohea 200 pecul at 29 tael, Congho 75 pecul at 50 tael, Pekoe 37 pecul at 35 tael, Singlo 650 pecul at 18 tael; Tutenague 1680 pecul at 6.6 taeel - total 132,905.7 tael; plus Chinaware 160 chests; China root 30 baskets; Sago for packing, at 3.8 tael per pecul. Part of the cargo, estimated at 180 tons, was unloaded at Madras, leaving c.235 tons for London. The volume contains a copy (by Robert Hudson jun, 16 Apr 1724) of the EIC's orders and instructions to the supercargoes 27 Dec 1723, with the supercargoes' responses to the instructions 4 Dec 1724.
