Correspondence concerning proposals to create a union on the Trucial Coast to counter the activities of Bedouin raiders. Correspondence also discusses the attitude of the Shaikh of Ras al Khaima who refused to observe the protocol of calling on visiting ships during the visit of the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf. The file also discusses plots in Ras al Khaima and includes the original Arabic and translation of a letter from Shaikh Sultan bin Salim, Ruler of Ras al Khaimah to William Rupert Hay, Political Resident in the Persian Gulf requesting the Political Resident's involvement in reconciling the Shaikh with his brother.
