The volume contains minutes of meetings at Office of the Secretary of State for India in London, correspondence and telegrams between the Political Agent in Bahrain, the Political Resident in Bushire, the Financial Adviser to the Government in Bahrain, Charles Dalrymple Belgrave, and representatives of the Bahrain Petroleum Company Limited on the Mining Lease and on a survey of Bahrain, for the purpose of identifying the lands granted to the Company by the Shaikh, Hamad Bin Issa Al-Khalifah.

The volume includes:

• copy of the lease including map of Bahrain (ff. 45-53);
• description of lands owned by the Sheihk and 'Survey of the municipal boundaries of Manama and Muharraq' (ff. 33-39);
• abstracts of accounts of oil measured during the first half on 1935 and 'Statement on Royalty due for the first half of 1935' (ff. 168-169);
• documents on a refinery to be built in Bahrain, including letters, in English and Arabic, between the Political Resident and the Sheikh.

There are two maps:

• 'Proposed reserve water well' (f. 71);
• 'Oil Loading Terminal at Bahrain Island, Persian Gulf, Mooring Layout' (f. 206).
