The file contains notes of meetings and correspondence between the Political Agent in Bahrain, the Political Resident in Bushire, the Financial Adviser to the Government in Bahrain, Charles Dalrymple Belgrave, and representatives of the Bahrain Petroleum Company Limited (BAPCO) on the negotiations for the revision of the oil royalties agreed in 1935 with the Shaikh of Bahrain, which are raised from Rs. 3/8 to Rs. 10/- per tonne.
There are documents in Arabic, letters to and from the Sheikh and BAPCO's 'Statement regarding Oil Royalties paid to his Highness Shaikh Sir Sulman bin Hamad al Khalifah, K.C.I.E. Ruler of Bahrein' [sic] (ff. 119-147).
