This file contains correspondence between British officials related to two topics:
1) an increase in the number of Persians migrating across the Gulf to the Trucial Coast, Sharjah in particular. This correspondence includes discussions regarding British concerns about the political consequecnes of this development (ff 2, 18-26).
2) a desire to replace a Persian employed at the Lighthouse Department on Tamb [Tunb] island with an Arab from Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah and the subsequent appointment of a man named Hassan bin Ibrahim, also referred to as Hassan bin Abdullah (ff 5-17).
