This file contains correspondence between British officials (primarily Charles Belgrave, Adviser to Government of Bahrain, and Cornelius James Pelly, Britain's Political Agent in Bahrain) about a number of issues related to the Persian community in Bahrain.
The correspondence includes discussions regarding an article that appeared in a Tehran newspaper about education in Bahrain, the number of Persians resident in Bahrain and the means by which Persian nationals enter Bahrain.
On folios 34-35 the file contains a notice (in English and Arabic) entitled 'Defence Regulations made under the Persian Gulf States (Emergency) Order in Council, 1939'. The notice was signed by Charles Geoffrey Prior, Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, 12 September 1939, and issued by the Political Agency in Bahrain on 15 September 1939.
