The file contains correspondence which discusses two matters.
Firstly, issues around the granting of exclusive rights to the British India Steam Navigation company to use Sharjah as a Port of call and how to deal with any requests from Soviet and Japanese shipping. Correspondents include Lieutenant Colonel Trenchard Craven Fowle, Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; Political Agent, Bahrain; the Mesopotamia Persia Corporation.
Secondly, reports (ff 9-15) of a fight aboard SS Wosang at Sharjah on 3 April, 1945. Correspondents include Commodore I W Whitehorn, Senior Naval Officer Persian Gulf; Captain J Hull; V G Bhandare, Surgeon, SS Wosang.
