The file begins with a letter and note from Charles Dalrymple Belgrave, Adviser to the Government of Bahrain, to the British Political Agent, Bahrain, explaining the issue concerning disputes over landownership in Bahrain based on the practice of Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa of giving out scraps of paper granting ownership to members of the Ruling Family. The rest of the file consists mainly of Arabic transcripts and English translations of letters relating to these uncertainties over land ownership. Also included in the correspondence is discussion of the practicalities of appointing an agricultural expert and an entomological specialist for Bahrain.
