Correspondence concerning the arrival and departure of Steamships and tugs in Bahrain of the Anglo Iranian Oil Company (AIOC). Cargo includes: BP products from Abadan; kerosene and motor spirit;cement products; sacks of coffee; evaporated milk; tyres; paint; dried fish. Ships mentioned include: SS Khuzistan; SS Resang; SS Collegian; SS Kingyuan; SS Francis Drake; SS Barala; SS Taraqqi; SS Victoria Peak; SS Brastagi; SS Silversandal; SS Kongsborg; SS Silverwalnut; MV Silverlarch.
Much of the correspondence is between the Political Agent, Bahrain and the company Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo which was an agent for Anglo Iranian Oil Company Ltd. Correspondence also indicates that Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo was an agent for Silver and Java Pacific Line and Holland Persian Gulf Line. There is also correspondence from Jasim and Ali Kanoo.
A letter (18 June 1944) from Gray Mackenzie and Co. Ltd to the Political Agent, Bahrain informs they have received instructions from the Ministry of War Transport, Basrah [Basra] stating that only service personnel are to be accepted as passengers on MV Resang and that no civilian passengers including staff of the Political Residency and Agency can be accepted; prior to this they could be carried only if they provided their own rations (telegram 13 September 1943).
