The file contains monthly statements recording running totals of expenditure (also known as '"E" form statements') for the Political Agency Bahrain, together with associated correspondence between the Agency and the office of the Accountant-General, Central Revenues, New Delhi (AGCR). The expenditure is divided into pay, allowances, and other charges.
The papers include: monthly "E" form statements for the Political Agency Bahrain from July 1946 to December 1947 (inclusive), which were sent to the Accountant-General and the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; correspondence between the Political Agency and the office of the Accountant-General clarifying discrepancies in the statements; and pay bills/detailed pay bills (vouchers) debitable to the Political Agency, Bahrain recording the pay and allowances of staff and gazetted officers of the Persian Gulf Residency who had carried out duties on behalf of the Bahrain Agency.
The date range gives the overall covering dates of the main body of correspondence; however, there is an entry of later date in the notes on folio 88v, dated 30 May [1948].
