The file concerns the registration of documents by the Political Agency, Bahrain.
The papers consist of correspondence between those applying to have documents registered and the Political Agency, Bahrain. Almost all the correspondence is from the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO). The documents submitted for registration include certificates for shipments of cylinders and other equipment; certificates of origin; customs declarations concerning the shipment of personal effects of BAPCO employees; powers of attorney; leases; and declarations of increases of company capital.

- The papers are arranged in chronological order from the front to the rear of the file, except where enclosures of an earlier date are filed after their relevant covering letter, and terminate in a set of notes (folios 420-445). Circled serial numbers in red ink (indicating incoming correspondence), which occur throughout the file, refer to entries in the notes.

- The Political Agent, Bahrain acted as Notary Public. Companies and individuals in Bahrain submitted documents for registration, and a fee was charged by the Agency for this service. Applicants had to bring documents in to the Agency in person for their signatures to be attested.
