The file concerns a proposal by the Air Liaison Officer, Bahrein [Bahrain] to replace existing service telephone poles and lines along the causeway between Manama and Muharraq with longer-lasting fittings, such as steel poles.
The main correspondents are the Air Liaison Officer, Bahrain (also referred to as the Officer Commanding, RAF Station, Bahrain) (Wing Commander H C Parker); the Political Agent, Bahrain; and the Adviser to the Government of Bahrain (Charles Dalrymple Belgrave).
The correspondence records that the Government of Bahrain had no objections to the proposed alterations, but as the line was to be the property of the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) and the RAF (Royal Air Force), the Government saw no reason to accept responsibility for carrying out the works.
